A FREE Performance & Expo for The Community
What do Peggy Marconi, First Selectman Rudy Marconi, comedian Christine O'Leary, Christianne McGuire, Rodier Flowers owners Don and Mary Jones have in common? They are all awesome Ridgefield residents performing in the award-winning play "Love Letters" on August 8 at 2pm at The Ridgefield Playhouse outdoor tent.
People’s United Bank brings back a free, outdoor day of fun! This much-loved annual event brings in more than 500 attendees each year and is a “thank you” to the community. This year instead of Shakespeare, we’re bringing A.R. Gurney’s Pulitzer Prize-nominated play “Love Letters” to the stage.
This unique and imaginative theatre piece is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences.
In our version, directed by Daniel C. Levine, we bring 3 couples together to read the letters aloud creating an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling set of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down.
Before the performance, visit our FREE expo. The expo will feature local businesses sharing product information, samples and demonstrations. There will be food samples, food for purchase and much more!
You can also stop by People’s United Bank (inside Stop & Shop, 125 Danbury Rd, Ridgefield) and pick up tickets.
All tickets will be held at the box office until 1pm the day of the show.
