Gallery Hop in Ridgefield Thursday, July 14, 6-9pm

D.Colabella Fine Art Gallery and RPAC Gallery will be hosting two art opening receptions on July 14th, from 6 – 9 p.m. in downtown Ridgefield, Connecticut, at 446 and 410 Main Street, respectively.

This evening of fine art will display the work of both local Ridgefield artists and beyond. RPAC Gallery will showcase new work from the RPAC Resident Artists alongside Connecticut guest artist, Tim Sway, in the show, Follow the Music. Sway, a former touring musician, uses reclaimed and upcycled materials to create both unusual and traditional high-quality musical instruments.

Over a dozen uniquely created guitars featuring locally sourced wood and other objects pulled from the waste stream will be on view. D.Colabella Fine Art Gallery will present FIRST RESPONSE featuring a collection of work by CT artist, Terrence Mahon.

The exhibition takes a direct look at several cases of police brutality and social injustice between 2015 and 2020 through the lens of a multimedia installation.

Mahon’s large-scale pieces force a three-dimensional encounter with the details of these events to enshrine a declaration for care, humanity, and dignity. Come to Main Street on July 14th, from 6 – 9 p.m. and pass between the two gallery events seamlessly for an enriching evening of art!
