Ridgefield resident Kieran Smith will be swimming in the 200 Freestyle Finals at the Olympic Swim Trials tonight (Tuesday) on NBC at 8pm. He is the top seed heading into the finals! Tune in and cheer him on!
After finishing first in the 400 free and earning a spot on the U.S. Olympic team, last night, Smith finished first in the 200 Freestyle semi-finals and is top seed headed into the Olympic Swim Trials finals! Watch Kieran tonight on NBC at 8:00 pm and cheer him on!
On Sunday evening, the 21-year-old Florida Gator swam 400 Free to victory at the Olympic Trials at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska with a time of 3:44.86 winning the race by more than three seconds!
Smith is a Ridgefield High School graduate and Ridgefield Aquatic Club alumni who trained under Emmanuel Lanzo. He currently swims for the Florida Gators and is the first Gator to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Swim Team (read more here)
The 2021 Summer Olympics are less than six weeks away and will take place in Tokyo at Japan National Stadium beginning July 23, 2021.
