Ridgefield High School Music Department Names Charles Loeber June Student of the Month

The Ridgefield High School Music Department is excited to announce that Charles Loeber is its June Student of the Month -- the last of the 2021-22 academic year. Throughout his time at RHS, Charles has nourished his innate love for music by drumming in the Jazz Band and collaborating with his peers.

Through thick and thin, Charles has upheld a steadfast commitment to the music program. As a freshman, the drummer eagerly joined the Jazz Band and remained playing the drum set for the rest of his high-school years. Since then, Charles fostered his talents by pursuing the bass and piano, as well as being a percussionist in the Pep Band.

When asked about what he loved most about the RHS music program, Charles responded: “Finding other people that love music as much as me and growing my relationship with them. Jamming with those people during free time is also very fun.” In the spirit of music and collaboration, Charlie often “jammed out” in the Choir Room with fellow jazz musicians during his free time.

“Kids like Charlie are the unsung heroes of our music program,” says Band Director George Beratis. “Not only is he dedicated, talented, and hardworking, but he also genuinely loves the music. His presence will be missed next year.”

Now a graduate of Ridgefield High School, Charles will continue his instrumental journey by studying Jazz at Berklee College of Music. Whether it be through his performances on-stage or in-school, he has filled the halls with unforgettable tunes. The RHS Music Department thanks Charles for his unrelenting passion for music, and wishes him the best for his future endeavors.
