Yes, Jaipore Xpress, an Indian-style eatery will make its Bailey Ave debut! But probably not until August.
We spoke to the business owner today who informed us that their opening, targeted for July, has been pushed back to August. "We are getting there, but as usual inspections, contractor delays have things moving at a slow pace. It looks like we may get into August for the opening," said Roshan Balan who is opening Jaipore Xpress with Jeevan Pullan.
Balan said that a Public Hearing is approaching to discuss Jaipore Xpress signage.
A building permit was issued in March to renovate the space, which formally housed Subway.
While the restaurant will focus on takeout, we were told that there will a few seats inside as well.
With a sister location in Brewster - "Jaipore" - Ridgefield will be home to the "Xpress" version. "The menu will be a bit different," said Pullan. In addition to Indian classics like Tikka Masala, Pullan wants to introduce Ridgefield to some unique tastes of India. You can check out the Brewster location online here.
