RPAC Gallery presents FOLLOW THE MUSIC July 14 to September 11 - Opening Reception on Thursday, July 14

RPAC Gallery, located at 410 Main Street, Ridgefield, is excited to present FOLLOW THE MUSIC, an exhibition showcasing the artwork of visiting artist Tim Sway and RPAC Resident Artists. Tim Sway’s art uses reclaimed and upcycled materials to create unusual and traditional high-quality musical instruments. Over a dozen uniquely created guitars featuring reclaimed and locally sourced wood and other objects pulled from the waste stream will be on view. As an interactive highlight, viewers and musicians will be encouraged to play selected instruments throughout the exhibit.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Tim Sway is an artist/maker based out of Meriden, Conn. After a career as a touring and recording musician, Tim left music to pursue making goods from reclaimed and sustainable materials. Close to two decades of traveling for a living made him acutely aware how important it is to consume less and live locally. Tim began his maker career creating custom furniture, sculpture and more from locally sourced reclaimed materials, but the business quickly evolved back to music. Nowadays, he mostly makes eco conscious guitars and instruments for his company, New Perspectives Music.

In addition to his sustainability mission, Tim creates videos about his work on YouTube, to share what he learns, to encourage others to think eco consciously, and to chase their dreams.
