COVID-19 Vaccinations in Connecticut

Connecticut has prepared for the authorization and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines and is currently in Phase 1a.

To date, a total of 7,761 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to people in Connecticut. All of the doses under this first phase of the state’s COVID-19 vaccine program have been administered to people in the healthcare workforce, and residents and staff of long-term care facilities. A total of 9 nursing homes have completed vaccine administration, and 75 nursing homes are scheduled to begin administering the vaccine this week.

During the first week of deliveries last week, the state received a total of 31,200 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. This week, it is anticipated that 24,375 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and 63,300 doses of the Moderna vaccine will be delivered to Connecticut.

The State's goal is for all residents of Connecticut to have access to the vaccination, although this will likely not occur until late Spring or early Summer 2021. Connecticut is currently working with a broad range of healthcare institutions to serve as vaccine providers, and to evaluate several factors like storage capacity.

Officials are also communicating with community partners and considering guidance from the federal government in finalizing our distribution plan.
