This Morning: Light to moderate snow is expected in Western CT, moderate to occasionally heavy snow is expected in Central CT and heavy snow is expected in Eastern CT during the morning rush hour. The impact on the morning rush hour is expected to range from minor in western CT, moderate in central CT and moderate to major in eastern CT. Roads in eastern CT are likely to have several inches of snow cover. Roads in the Hartford / New Haven areas will likely have a light snow cover and slush combination. Roads in western CT are forecast to have a light coating of slush. The snow is forecast to continue thru the morning to be lighter in Western CT and heavier in Eastern CT. Temperatures are forecast to rise into the low 30’s with North winds gusting to 30 MPH inland and 40 MPH along the coast at times.
This Afternoon: The snow intensity is forecast to lighten up by early afternoon and end from southwest to northeast between 3:00 – 7:00 PM. The impact on the afternoon rush hour is expected to range from very minor in western CT, minor in central CT and moderate in eastern CT. Roads in eastern CT are likely to have a few inches of remaining snow on the shoulders, ramps and secondary roads. Roads in the Hartford / New Haven areas will likely have been plowed and have a light snow cover and slush combination. Roads in western CT are forecast to have been plowed and have a light coating of slush on the shoulders and ramps.
