Town of Ridgefield Storm Update

Ridgefield has experienced significant wind damage with downed wires and multiple trees making roads impassable. Most damage has occurred in the northern part of town and in the Mamanasco area. As of 9:00 tonight, 15% of the town is without power. At this point we are still in the make safe mode, assessing damage and making sure emergency vehicles can pass and at this time. There is no estimate for power restoration. Please follow manufacturer?s instructions if using generators. Listen for an announcement from your schools regarding possible closing.
We advise residents to consider all wires live. Do not drive over downed wires.

Trees can continue to fall even after the storm is over. Due to a significant amount of damage on roadways, we strongly urge you not to travel on roads this evening. For a list of roads that are blocked, go to Ridgefield CERT Facebook page at Ridgefield CERT.We will update you in the morning as more information becomes available. For all emergencies, dial 911. For more information, call Ridgefield Emergency Operations Center Call Center at 203-431-2350.
