With Special Guests Bjössi Thor with Mackenzie Wasner
Robben Ford is one of the premier guitarists today! A native of northern California, Ford first made his name as a sideman for the likes of Charlie Musselwhite, Bob Dylan, George Harrison and Joni Mitchell; and he even contributed lead guitar to Kiss’ Creatures of the Night. He was a founding member of the jazz outfit The Yellowjackets, where he stayed until 1983. Ford then spent most of the mid-1980s touring alongside jazz icon Miles Davis. R
obben’s latest release, Into The Sun, came out in March 2015 and debuted at #2 on the Billboard Blues Chart. It has such guest artists as Warren Haynes, Keb’ Mo, Robert Randolph, ZZ Ward, Sonny Landreth and Tyler Bryant. Robben taped the PBS show Infinity Hall Live earlier this year as well as appearing at the Grammy Museum for an interview and performance. He is currently touring worldwide in support of his new release.
An important and essential component of Robben’s career is his commitment to teaching and passing on what he’s learned over the past 40 years to current and future musicians. His instructional videos and clinics over this time have culminated in a collaboration with TrueFire and the birth of the Robben Ford Guitar Dojo. The wealth of his expertise and creativity is generously presented in these state-of-the-art productions and will be, for years to come.
Mackenzie Wasner is a “homegrown” singer/songwriter from just outside of Nashville. She’s an up-and-coming country music artist who is turning heads with powerhouse vocals that are both fresh and somehow classic, evoking the sound of greats like Dolly Parton. At age 17, the judges on Season 12 of American Idol lauded her “star power” and “gorgeous” voice as they unanimously sent her to Hollywood. A seasoned live performer, Mackenzie has opened for Amy Grant, Jodee Messina and Vince Gill, among others.
