Welcome Home Week kicks off at Lounsbury House on Sunday, October 22, with Family Day, an event featuring live music, food trucks, an inflatable obstacle course and a pumpkin hunt. The free outdoor event runs from 12:00pm to 3:00pm and is open to people of all ages.
Live music will be performed throughout the day as families participate in a myriad of activities on the grounds of Lounsbury House. At 1:30pm, Magic Dave takes the stage to treat the audience to extraordinary illusions and tongue-in-cheek comedy. A sports zone, arts and crafts stations, balloon animal artists and face painters will provide additional entertainment, and the Ridgefield Police Department will conduct complimentary car seat safety checks. Lounsbury House staff and volunteers will hold tours of the historic landmark – and award prizes to children participating in the pumpkin hunt.
“After months spent in summer camps and travelling – and the madness of back-to-school –October is a time to settle back into life,” says Belinda Lasky, Executive Director of Lounsbury House. “Welcome Home Week is our way of bringing us back together as a community. What better way to do that than with an event to celebrate families?”
