Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra presents violin virtuoso at the Ridgefield Playhouse on March 17

The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to present renowned violinist Angelo Xiang Yu for Mozart: A Magnificent Evening at the Ridgefield Playhouse on March 17, 2018. Watch this video of Angelo Xiang Yu performing.

Mr. Yu's astonishing technique, exquisite tone and exceptional musical maturity have won him constant critical acclaim and enthusiastic ovations from audiences worldwide. In addition to sweeping the First Prize, Bach and Audience Prizes at the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, he was awarded 2nd prize at the Lipinski Wieniawski International Violin Competition and 3rd prize at the Michael Hill International Violin Competition. Mr. Yu has also been chosen to join the roster of Lincoln Center's prestigious Chamber Music Society beginning with the 2018-19 season.

Reviewers have praised Mr. Yu's performance style, which far from being stiff and formal, has a relaxed, near-impromptu feeling. His combination of technical brilliance and engaging personality is perfect for a Mozart program. Mr. Yu's sensitivity in phrasing and lyrical playing are more than a match for his dazzling fireworks. He produces his exquisite tone on a 1729 Stradivarius violin on loan from an anonymous donor.

Join us and experience Angelo Xiang Yu and the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra live, as they perform the marvelous Mozart works Overture to Don Giovanni, Concerto for Violin No. 4, Divertimento No. 1 and Symphony No. 41.
