Connecticut Family Orthopedics Sponsors Ridgefield Concert Featuring Julliard Grads on March 4

The community is invited to a concert sponsored by the Connecticut Family Orthopedics on Sunday March 4 at 4:00 PM, in the sanctuary of Congregation Shir Shalom of Westchester and Fairfield Counties. The concert will feature Julliard graduates and professional musicians, Ariana Nelson, cello, Mika Sasaki, piano, and Chelsea Starbuck Smith, violin.

Ariana Nelson is the newest member of the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra. Ariana is a gifted cellist, an avid proponent of new music and loves experimenting with different styles, including improvisation and folk music.

Mika Sasaki is a sought -after chamber musician, soloist and educator based in New York City. She has performed frequently in the US, Europe and Japan, at venues including Alice Tully Hall, Steinway Hall, 92nd St Y, Tanglewood and live on WQXR radio. As an accomplished chamber musician Mika was invited to Music@Menlo as an international program artist as well as the Tanglewood Music Center as a Leonard Bernstein Fellow.

Mika is completing her doctoral studies at The Julliard School where she held several teaching and faculty positions. She currently teaches in the Julliard Evening Division and works with middle school students in Queens as part of her fellowship with Ensemble Connect.

Chelsea Starbuck Smith is acclaimed as a violinist of “compelling presence, fearless attack, and technical aplomb and bravado” ( New London’s The Day). At only 26 Chelsea has performed across the United States and abroad. She has collaborated with Debbie Harry and Blondie as well as the crossover violin duo, Les Deux hailed as “unarguabley gifted with a keen ear for arranging” by the New York Examiner. She has been on the TV series Glee, and has appeared on many fine arts radio programs including WMNR and CT Public Radio.

These outstanding musicians will present a fascinating program, Composers and Their Worlds.

Paul Frucht, Artistic Director of the Charles Ives Concert Series is dedicated to bringing world class music to our community in celebration of our local composer, Charles Ives from Danbury, CT.

The Connecticut Family Orthopedics is proud to sponsor this program for the community. CFO includes the first walk in orthopedic clinic in our area, OrthoPROMPT, Agility Physical Therapy, and OccPROMPT, a new service for Occupational Medicine.

Admission is free, donations gratefully accepted for the Danbury Music Centre.
