Fences Adds Performance on Thursday, February 22nd

The Ridgefield Theater Barn's production of Fences has been critically acclaimed and embraced by audiences.  As word of the powerful production has spread, performances have been selling out.  Unfortunately, one sold-out show had to be canceled this past weekend due to the snow storm.  In light of the demand for tickets, and limited shows remaining, the production staff has thankfully added a performance this Thursday, February 22nd at 8pm.

Reviews have been unanimous in their praise:

"...a deeply moving and brilliantly intense production" -Broadway World

"We sit there in the smartly-designed environs of the Ridgefield Theater Barn as quiet observer watching everything they say and do. And never once are we reminded that we are watching a play. This 'Fences' is real, raw, riveting and emotional." - From the Desk of Jim Ruocco, Take 2

"Fences is a must see. A brilliant cast, acting their hearts out in a timeless play, is always a must see." - Newtown Bee

Bringing together an incredible ensemble of actors from the tri-state area, the show features Shelby Davis, Dan Fedrick, Dania Fedrick, Kevin Knight, Tracey McAllister, Foster Evans Reese, and Steffon Sampson.

Set in the 1950s, Fences is the sixth in Wilson's ten-part American Century Cycle. Like all the American Century plays, it explores the evolving African-American experience and examines race relations, among other themes. Winning multiple awards, the play was first developed at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's 1983 National Playwrights Conference.

Due to strong language and adult themes, the play is recommended for mature audiences only.

The Ridgefield Theater Barn is located at 37 Halpin Lane.  Seating is cabaret style and audiences are encouraged to bring food drinks to enjoy before the show. Doors open one hour prior to curtain.  Tickets ($35 for adults, and $28 for students, veterans, and seniors), are available at ridgefieldtheaterbarn.org.
