Fountain Music Series Concert in Ridgefield on March 18

The Fountain Music Series, under the direction of Edwin R. Taylor, presents “Uncanny Keyboard Fireworks” with Aaron Tan and Clayton Farmer at the First Congregational Church of Ridgefield, 103 N. Main Street, Ridgefield, Connecticut on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at 4 p.m.

Dr. Aaron Tan is a passionate organist, pianist and materials scientist earning Licentiate and Fellowship diplomas in Piano Performance from Trinity College of Music in London at the age of 13 and 15 years, respectively. In 2012 he was a participant in the Poland International Piano Festival and received the first prize in the festival’s competition.  Aaron currently serves as Assistant Organist at Christ Church Cranbrook, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.  

Clayton Farmer is a bassoonist, pianist and organist in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  He attends the Huron High School there he plays in the Symphony Band, Symphony Orchestra and sings in the A Cappella Choir. Learning to play the piano and organ at a young age, Clayton is currently an active piano accompanist, church organist plans to attend a conducting leadership program this summer at Westminster Choir College and will enter the University of Michigan School of Music this coming Fall on a four-year scholarship in organ performance.

A sampling of concert music includes Beethoven, Debussy, Brahms and Haydn, some of which are actually written for two keyboard instruments; others are transcriptions of complex orchestral literature arranged by the performers.  Prepared to be astounded as this talented duo perform mesmerizing feats on the organ and piano.  Admission is free.
