American Idol finalist LaKisha Jones brings To Whitney, With Love to The Ridgefield Playhouse, April 7

It will be an unforgettable evening celebrating the great ladies of song: Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin and the one and only Whitney Houston when “American Idol” finalist LaKisha Jones belts out these ladies’ greatest hits in To Whitney, With Love on Saturday, April 7th at 8pm at The Ridgefield Playhouse, part of Northeast Builders of Ridgefield Emerging Artist Series and Pepsi Rock Series powered by Xfinity and sponsored by The Hord Foundation. From sound stages or concert halls across the country and around the world, Jones has wowed audiences with show-stoppers like “And I Am Telling You,” “Last Dance,” “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” “Stop In the Name of Love” “I Will Always Love You” and the one that stunned the “American Idol” judges, Aretha Franklin’s “Think.”

Make it a great night out with dinner and a show: visit Bareburger (38 Danbury Rd ~ Ridgefield) for dinner the night of the show and enjoy a complimentary glass of house wine or draft beer with your entrée when you show your ticket. Media partner for this event is WEBE 108, CTs Best Music Variety.

Described by Simon Cowell as “A good old-fashioned belter,” Lakisha Jones was a single mother and bank employee with a dream when she auditioned and subsequently rose to fame on Season 6 of “American Idol.” From singing in a gospel church choir to singing with symphonies around the world, her life has become that dream. Her last album, So Glad I’m Me, was full of her expressive, full-bodied and arresting vocals, the same voice that electrified “American Idol” viewers and later the Broadway stage in the Oprah Winfrey produced, Tony Award-winning musical, The Color Purple. Following her Broadway stint, Jones provided vocal coaching on MTV’s reality competition “Legally Blonde: The Search for Elle Woods,” a show designed to find and hone Broadway’s next star. Don’t miss your chance to see this remarkable talent!

For tickets ($35), call or visit the box office, 203-438-5795 or go online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
