Hundreds Offered Free Screenings & Services at 44th Annual RVNA Health Fair

Over 80 exhibitors, each with valuable health information, tips, and educational materials, set up shop inside East Ridge Middle School today.

RVNA’s 44rd Annual Health & Wellness Fair was truly a community collaboration with a host of local businesses including BMW of Ridgefield, Cucumber and Chamomile, Medicinal Skin, and Ridgefield Running Company, as well as nonprofits, local law enforcement, and firefighters - all under one roof for the betterment of residents in and around Ridgefield.

New to the Fair this year was Hospice by RVNA, a new layer of care for the community spearheaded by RVNA Director of Hospice, Leslie Chiaramonte, MSN, BS, RN, CHPN.

Hundreds of today's attendees were given free screenings from skin cancer and carotid artery assessments to vision, hearing and cholesterol testing. Ridgefield Fire Department was on hand to offer CPR training. The popular “Ask the Expert” booths allowed Health Fair visitors to have one-on-one conversations with doctors in various specialties, as well as other healthcare professionals.

The Community Health & Wellness Fair provides an essential public service. Each year the Fair potentially saves a life when a serious condition requiring immediate medical attention is detected during one of the free screenings offered.

The entire event was free.

Thank you to all who participated in this important community event and to the RVNA for your continued service to residents in towns all over Fairfield County.
