Ridgefield School of Dance Announces Spring Performance "Madeline" May 19 & 20

Save the date! The Ridgefield School of Dance will present its 20th annual spring performance, Madeline, the weekend of May 19th and May 20th at East Ridge Middle School.

With choreography by the school’s artistic director, Jessica Boelts, the show is an original ballet inspired by the classic children’s book. Dancers costumed as gendarmes, sailors, ballerinas, living art and of course the boarding school’s youngest residents, especially the tiny and irrepressible Madeline, performing to 40’s themed jazz will bring the beloved story to life through dance.

The performance will also include Act 2 of the French classical ballet, Paquita, performed by the school’s ballet company, followed by the jazz department's offering of Brand New as its ode to spring with its own original choreography for jazz, lyrical, musical theatre dance and contemporary.

The Saturday, May 19th performance is a showcase of selections from Act I of Madeline, Brand New and Act II of Paquita.   On Sunday, the audience will be treated to the full Madeline performance, plus Act II of Paquita and all of Brand New.
