Country music superstar, actor and TV personality Trace Adkins comes to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, June 21 with his How Did We Get Here Tour

Country music superstar Trace Adkins’ trademark baritone has powered countless hits to the top of the charts, including “You’re Gonna Miss This,” “Arlington,” “Every Light In the House” and the Blake Shelton song “Hillbilly Bone,” on which he’s featured. The three-time Grammy Award-nominated member of the Grand Ole Opry is a TV personality, actor, author, and spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Red Cross, for which he raised more than $1.5 million dollars as winner of NBC’s “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice.” He also stars in the recently released film I Can Only Imagine with Dennis Quaid (see Dennis Quaid and the Sharks at The Playhouse on July 14!). Trace Adkins brings his How Did We Get Here Tour to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, June 21 at 8pm, part of the Mountain Dew Country & Bluegrass Series and partially underwritten by Cultec, Inc. Make it a great night out with dinner and show - visit The Hideaway (30 Grove Street in Ridgefield) for dinner the night of the show and enjoy a complimentary draft beer or glass of wine with your entree when you show your ticket. Media partner for this show is 92.5 Connecticut’s Country Music.

A Nashville icon for more than two decades, Trace Adkins has made his mark on the country-music industry with 11 million albums sold and a number of time-honored hit singles and Grammy Award nominations. Ask Adkins what’s left to prove in his career and the small-town Louisiana native says it’s simple: “To continually feel the excitement that comes after whipping up a new song out of thin air and laying it down to tape. It’s an adrenaline rush and I love it.” Adkins spent much of last year in a Nashville studio writing and recording with some of Nashville’s most respected songwriters including Shane McNally, Tyler Farr and Craig Campbell. The result was Something’s Going On, his 12th studio album and his first release on his new label, BBR Music Group/Wheelhouse Records. Adkins has won three Academy of Country Music Awards, including the 2009 Single of the Year Award for “You’re Gonna Miss This” and Vocal Event of the Year with Blake Shelton for “Hillbilly Bone” in 2010. In his 2007 autobiography, A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck, he recounted his rise to fame, brushes with death and battles with personal demons. In addition to his part in I Can Only Imagine, Adkins is also an accomplished actor with roles in several films and television shows, most notably playing a tough-as-nails biker in The Lincoln Lawyer, a desperate father in Deepwater Horizon, and a wise oracle of a tattoo artist in the family-friendly film Moms' Night Out. But he is perhaps most proud of his work supporting U.S. troops and veterans, serving as a spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Project and participating in an astounding 12 USO tours to date.

Contemporary country artist Bobby McGrath will open the show.  Bobby has performed on NBC's TODAY Show and played with bands and artists like Rascal Flatts, Phil Vassar, Tyler Farr, and Frankie Ballard at venues throughout the Northeast, including the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ and Irving Plaza in New York City. His recorded his debut EP with members of Martina McBride's touring band.
