Myth of the Nice Girl author talks success & leadership at Ridgefield Library tomorrow

Myth of the Nice Girl event, Tuesday, May 22, 7 pm at the Ridgefield Library for Daughters and Mothers, Young Professionals, Return-to-Work Women

Just in time for local young women starting new jobs and internships, author Fran Hauser is coming to the Ridgefield Library on Tuesday, May 22, 7pm-8pm to give a talk about her new book The Myth of the Nice Girl

Sharing time-tested strategies and personal experience—from her early career to her role as President of Digital at Time Inc.— Fran will help women discover how to reclaim “nice” and harness the often-overlooked power of kindness to find success as a strong leader.

Fran’s accessible advice and hard-won wisdom detail how to balance being empathetic with being decisive, how to rise above the double standards that can box you in, and how to cultivate authentic confidence that projects throughout a room.

Fran Hauser is a long-time media executive, startup investor and celebrated champion of women and girls. She's held senior positions at some of the world’s largest digital media businesses, including Time Inc.'s PEOPLE, InStyle and Entertainment Weekly as well as Moviefone and AOL. Now an angel investor who largely invests in female founders, Fran was named one of Refinery29’s “6 Most Powerful Women in NYC’s Tech Scene.”

This event is generously sponsored by the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce, Books on the Common, Run Like a Mother 5K with support from The Noreen Papa Live Your Life Fund.
