RIFF presents a Special Filmmaker Screening Event with award-winning director Thom Zimny featuring rare footage of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley
May 22, 2018, Ridgefield, CT: Grammy and Emmy award-winning director THOM ZIMNY will present select clips from his acclaimed new HBO docuseries ELVIS PRESLEY: The Searcher, during a special filmmaker screening event on May 24th at 7pm at the Ridgefield Playhouse, 80 East Ridge Rd., sponsored by the Ridgefield Independent Film Festival (http://RIFFct.org).
The film features never-before-seen photos and archival film from the Presley Estate “Graceland,” where Zimny was given unprecedented access by Priscilla Presley who regards The Searcher as the definitive film biography of Elvis, known to fans throughout the world as the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. A Q&A with Zimny will follow. RIFF Festival Director Megan Smith-Harris says, "People may think they 'know' Elvis, but they may be surprised. The rare archival footage, photos, and interviews make this deeply layered documentary nothing short of revelatory."
