According to legend, Howie Mandel, who ran a carpet business in Canada, began his show biz career on a dare at amateur night at the Comedy Store on L.A.’s Sunset Strip. A producer spotted him and hired him for an appearance on the comedy game show "Make Me Laugh," and since then he’s not been far from your TV screen. Besides being a hilarious and entertaining TV host, he is also a terrific actor with a supporting role on the critically acclaimed “St. Elsewhere” and as the voice of Gizmo in “Gremlins.” Catch him in his natural habitat, doing stand-up for a live audience at The Playhouse!
