Howie Mandel Returns to Stand-up at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, June 14th!

For more than 30 years, Howie Mandel has remained a constant force in show business. His versatile career has covered television, film, stage, animation and author with his 2009 memoir Here’s the Deal: Don’t Touch Me.  Howie also serves as one of the judges on NBC’s hit talent competition series “America’s Got Talent” alongside Heidi Klum, Mel B and Simon Cowell. He received an Emmy nomination for his work on “Deal or No Deal” and is a regular on both the talk show and comedy circuits where he and is known for his infamous latex glove routine. Get ready to laugh as he brings his stand-up to The Ridgefield Playhouse stage on Thursday, June 14th at 8pm, part of Barts Tree Service Comedy Series. Opening act is deadpan comic John Mendoza. According to legend, Howie Mandel, who ran a carpet business in Canada, began his show biz career on a dare at amateur night at the Comedy Store on L.A.’s Sunset Strip. A producer spotted him and hired him for an appearance on the comedy game show "Make Me Laugh," and since then he’s not been far from your TV screen. Besides being a hilarious and entertaining TV host, he is also a terrific actor with a supporting role on the critically acclaimed “St. Elsewhere” and as the voice of Gizmo in “Gremlins.” Catch him in his natural habitat, doing stand-up for a live audience at The Playhouse!

Opening act John Mendoza is known for delighting audiences with his deadpan comedy since appearing on Star Search in 1984.  Mendoza has left his mark on the comedy scene, appearing in top TV shows such as “Yes Dear,” “Two and a Half Men,” “Dharma & Greg,” and “NYPD Blue.”
