What Do Bees Need? Planting for Pollinators at The Ridgefield Library on August 22

Join Emily May from The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation on August 22 at 7 PM to learn about the diversity of native pollinators in Connecticut and how you can help protect these important insects. The presentation will cover how to recognize native bees, an introduction to native bee biology and their habitat needs, planting for pollinators, and how to make your yard or garden a sanctuary for bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects.

Emily May is a Pollinator Conservation Specialist with the Pesticide Program at the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation. She received an M.S. in Entomology from Michigan State University, and has studied pollinator habitat restoration, bee nesting habits, and the effects of pest management practices on wild bee communities.
