Ridgefield Historical Society events this Sunday: Little Red Schoolhouse & Agricultural Fair

Ridgefield Historical Society Announces August 26th Events

The Ridgefield Historical Society is out and about in the community and is pleased to announce its participation in two fun events on Sunday, August 26. Visit us at:

Sundays at the Schoolhouse: The Peter Parley Schoolhouse (intersection of West Lane and CT Rte 35) will be open to the public from 1 to 4 pm, rain or shine.

Cannon Grange: Agricultural Fair & Exposition: Cannon Grange Hall, 25 Cannon Road, Wilton from 10 am to 4 pm, rain or shine.

The Sundays at the Schoolhouse program is free to the public and engages visitors of all ages through interactive tours of the Schoolhouse and hands-on learning experiences with docents and historical craft makers from the Colonial era. On August 26, the program will feature an antique fire engine owned by Gavin Donnelly, antique toys, and quill writing and other activities with Cindi Emmert. An ice cream truck will be on the premises for frozen treats. Sundays at the Schoolhouse is generously sponsored by Fairfield County Bank. For more information, visit ridgefieldhistoricalsociety.org or call 203-438-5821.

The Ridgefield Historical Society is delighted to be one of a large gathering of non-profit organizations new to this year’s 86th Cannon Grange Agricultural Fair. Admission to the Fair is $2 per person, or $1 accompanied by a non-perishable food item for the Wilton Social Services Food Pantry. Free parking is available at the Cannondale Railroad Station directly across the street.  A wide assortment of judged exhibits will be on display for fairgoers and games for kids and adults will be held, including a late afternoon watermelon-eating contest!
