The Ridgefield Historical Society's Holiday Events

The Ridgefield Historical Society's Holiday Events Include Open House on Sunday, December 2 from 11 am to 5 pm

The Ridgefield Historical Society will be open to the public on Sunday, December 2 from 11 am to 5 pm. Mark your calendar and take advantage of this special occasion to visit the Scott House, festively decorated for the season, and cross some holiday gifts off your list!

  •          Sit for a Hand cut Silhouette

Deborah O’Connor will create a silhouette portrait for you, your family, and pets – just in time for the holidays! Sitting time for each subject is just five minutes. The original silhouette is $30 for members and $35 for nonmembers. You must have an appointment for this event, please call 203-438-5821 to schedule one. For pet silhouettes, bring your pet or a picture of the pet’s right profile. For more information, including the entire price list for mats and frames, please visit our website at ridgefieldhistoricalsociety.org.

  •          Peruse our Bookshop

The Historical Society has some great titles and a couple historic maps in the shop! Come take a look and remember members receive a minimum 10% discount.

  •          Order a Historic Plaque (three week turn-around time)

Commemorate an important house or accessory building (circa 1920 or earlier) with a historic marker plaque. The weatherproof and wooden plaque’s design has been fully reviewed and approved by the Town of Ridgefield and is crafted by an artisan sign maker who specializes in hand workmanship. The plaques are available in two sizes. Purchase of a plaque in no way limits your right to make alterations to your house in the future.

  •          Purchase tickets to our New England Soirée at the Peter Parley Schoolhouse

Join us for a holiday event at the Schoolhouse, specially decorated for the holidays! This festive event will feature light fare, seasonal punch, and music. A few surprises will be in store the night of the event and guests may bid on a selection of silent auction items. Space is limited. Tickets are $40 for members; $50 for nonmembers.

For more information and to purchase your tickets online, visit ridgefieldhistoricalsociety.org, call 203-438-5821, or email ridgefieldhistory@sbcglobal.net. Special thanks to event sponsor Nutmeg Livery.
