Ridgefield's Carols by Candlelight Concert Is This Saturday

St. Stephen’s Carols by Candlelight, to be held Saturday, Dec. 15, is a celebration of Advent and Christmas. It begins at 7:30 in the church at 351 Main Street.

The concert features the St. Stephen’s Choristers, 14 singers in grades 3 through 10. They will sing their own selections and will also join the St. Stephen’s Festival Choir in several pieces. Scott Toperzer, music of minister at St. Stephen’s, will direct the choirs and the 28-piece Connecticut Chamber Orchestra. Arno Steinig will play the organ.

In addition to the selections from Bach, Carols by Candlelight will include movements from Handel’s “Messiah” and works by Gustave Holst, Felix Mendelssohn, and traditional carols. Doors open at 7, and the suggested donation is $20.
