RSO Listening Live! Community Concert presents the Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra Chamber Orchestra

The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra continues the Listening Live! Community Concert series with presentation of a performance by the Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra Chamber Orchestra featuring an all Beethoven program. The Concert will be held on Sunday, January 27 at 4:00 PM at the Ridgefield Playhouse.  Please join us!  Admission is FREE and all are invited to attend!

“The Listening Live! series, which we started in the fall of 2017, is part of the RSO’s Education & Outreach Initiative and is designed to offer a variety of music and performers in a format accessible for all and to reach a broad and diverse population of our community,” says RSO Executive Director Laurie Kenagy. “We are very excited to present this fantastic group of talented and dedicated youth musicians performing music by Beethoven, including the incredible Symphony No. 7.”

The WCYO Chamber Orchestra is made up of high school age musicians who are part of the larger WCYO Symphony Orchestra.  The ensemble is under the direction of the organization’s Music Director Eric Mahl and was formed to give advanced musicians a chamber music experience, in addition to participation in the larger orchestra.  The WCYO organization also includes a String Ensemble and a Wind Ensemble.

The RSO Education & Outreach Initiative is sponsored by the Union Savings Bank Foundation, with assistance from the Ridgefield Rotary Club and the Ridgefield Thrift Shop.
