On this entertaining evening, showman Ron Gartner tells the story of the swingin’-est guy who ever put on a tux.

if you are just over the age of sixty, you’ll remember the great entertainer, Bobby Darin, as the guys who sang Mack The Knife. Or if you are in your seventies, you probably remember his early rock-n-roll career with songs like Splish Splash and Dream Lover.  Either way, you may not remember what an all-around great performer he was - singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, and actor.

He died at the age of 37 in 1973 and many say had he lived, he would have been bigger than Sinatra. From a sickly childhood in the Bronx, he raced to the top of the charts in the late 50’s into the early Sixties. When the music tastes changed, he became a country singer and songwriter for a period. Then he was lured back into his tuxedo in Las Vegas, only to die suddenly.

His story, including his loves and marriages, 23 great songs, multimedia, a swinging band, and Vegas singer, Ron Gartner, will all come together at Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 5pm.
