St. Stephen’s Welcomes All to YogaMass Service

St. Stephen's Episcopal Church will hold a service on Saturday, March 16 ― open to the public ― which integrates yoga with Episcopal Church worship. It will be led by the Rev. Gena Davis, an ordained Episcopal priest and founder of YogaMass.  The service will begin at 5 p.m. in the church’s North Hall at 351 Main St.

People of all levels of yoga experience are welcome.  Attendees are asked to bring a mat and water bottle. and loose clothing or yoga clothes are recommended.  Chairs will be provided for those who prefer chair yoga.

As the Rev. Davis has said, "YogaMass bridges yoga principles and practices with Christian spirituality and worship as a path for bringing the whole self ― body, mind, soul, and spirit ― to the experience of spiritual awakening. When I'm on my mat and connecting deeply with my breath and the energy moving within me, and to the quiet presence of God within and around me, I touch the essence of all of life. The same happens for me when celebrating the Eucharist.” Rev. Davis is coming to St. Stephen’s after presenting YogaMass to the 63rd United Nations’ gathering of The Commission on the Status of Women in New York City.

Anyone wishing to attend the March 16 service is asked to RSVP to gfitzpatrick@ststephens-ridgefield.com. Drop-ins welcome as space allows.
