Lonestar Returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse with the Hits & More Hits Tour on June 20

2019 marks the 20th anniversary of Lonestar’s triple-platinum Lonely Grill album, which featured four songs to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart: "Amazed" (also a #1 Hot 100 hit), "Smile,” "What About Now" and "Tell Her." Lonestar will showcase much of their signature album along the Hits & More Hitstour, which comes to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, June 20 at 8pm.

The band promises an intimate and memorable performance not-to-be-missed by any Lonestar fan! Brother-sister duo Auguste & Alden will open the show, which is part of the Mountain Dew Country Bluegrass Series built by Ring’s End. Visit 850 Degrees Wood Fired Restaurant (424 R. Main Street, Ridgefield) for dinner before the show and enjoy a complimentary draft beer with purchase of an entree when you show your ticket! Media partner for this event is 92.5 Country.

Lonestar -- Richie McDonald (lead vocals), Michael Britt (lead guitar & backing vocals), Keech Rainwater (drums) and Dean Sams (keyboards & backing vocals) -- has been rehearsing for the tour and recording new music in Nashville since the wrap of their late 2018 Not So Silent Night tour with Phil Vassar. Known for merging their country roots with strong melodies and rich vocals, Lonestar has amassed RIAA-certified sales in excess of ten million album units since their national launch in 1995, and achieved ten #1 country hits including "No News," "Come Crying To Me," and their crossover smash "Amazed" (which was also #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the first record since 1983's "Islands in the Stream" to top both charts). The band's awards include ACM Single of The Year for "Amazed" (the song also won the Song of the Year award), and CMA Vocal Group of the Year, as well as a 2017 People's Choice Award nomination for best country group. With over 100 dates worldwide per year, they are celebrating over 25 years together. The Guardian recently raved that Lonestar exemplify “country’s greatest strength: picture-painting, story-based, tear-your-heart-out lyrics that are the most direct and lucid in popular music.”

Auguste and Alden are a New England based sibling duo, accompanied by drums to make them a strong unique power trio. Growing up as homeschooled kids on the road playing music all over the country, Auguste and Alden have written a catalog of over 200 songs. The unique sound of their original songwriting as well as their signature blood harmonies have led them to share their music at incredible events and venues such as Infinity Hall, Daryl's House, NAMM, Rockwood Music Hall, Nectars, Gathering Of The Vibes, The Ridgefield Playhouse, Soulfest, Arlenes Grocery, Bowery Electric and many more.

For tickets ($65) call or visit the box office, 203-438-5795 or go online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org.  The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
