The Second FCC Bluegrass Coffeehouse & Open Bluegrass Jam will be held on Saturday, August 24th, from 7-10 pm. This family-friendly event is hosted by the First Congregational Church, 103 Main St, Ridgefield, CT.

At 7 pm "On the Trail" will be performing; On the Trail is a modern acoustic quartet that explores everything from Bluegrass to contemporary pop, from stunning instrumentals to beautiful traditional songs. The band has already gained recognition and praise for their exploration and strong execution of challenging musical pieces, as well as for their new original music.

At 8 pm The Bluegrass Characters (https://bluegrasscharacters.com) features the Bluegrass sounds of such notable artists as Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs and The Stanley Brothers.

At 9 pm an Open Bluegrass Jam will ensue led by “On the Trail’s” Austin Scelzo. If you are a musician new to jamming and planning to attend, please arrive at 6:30 pm when the open jam concept will be explained.

Bluegrass music, a distinctly American musical genre, has significant historical Christian and Appalachian roots. Bluegrass jams, steeped in years of tradition, are communal events that draw people of all ages to make music together. The Coffeehouse will take advantage of the newly renovated “Lund Hall” with ample capacity to create a safe, social, multifaceted musical atmosphere.

Admission is $10 per person and $5 for performing musicians. Bring your appetite because hot dogs, pizza, Brussel sprout salad, beverages and light snacks will be available for sale. FCC plans to offer up this affordable event on a monthly basis for bluegrass musicians and music lovers where food, drink, and a casual fun environment will be on display! Any questions?
