Proceeds from Rock, Ride & Run will benefit The Leir Foundation Arts for Everyone program, which helps make the performing arts available to economically disadvantaged residents of Fairfield County and surrounding communities who cannot afford the cost of admission, even at reduced rates. The Playhouse was founded in the belief that the arts can and do make a difference in the lives of people, and that accessibility to the arts should not be limited by one’s ability to pay.
Arts for Everyone works with a wide range of non-profit organizations including ABC, Ability Beyond, Danbury Youth Services, Family and Children’s Aid, Grassroots Tennis, Mental Health Associates of CT and the Out and About Club. The Arts for Everyone outreach program also donates free tickets to Title 1 Schools and provides busing for the students to attend our Arts in Education programming. Our title sponsor for this program, The Leir Foundation, is a charitable organization that was founded by Henry Leir and his wife Erna, who came to this country in 1938 and settled in Ridgefield in 1954. Henry Leir was a philanthropist and The Foundation continues the Leirs’ charitable legacy.
