Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra Brings Conrad Tao to Ridgefield on on February 22

Coming off a wildly popular concert last weekend with special guests the Brubeck Brothers Quartet, the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra is set to bring another marvelous guest artist to Ridgefield on February 22nd for “Soirée” – the third concert in a season entitled “American: An Exploration Through Music”.  Pianist Conrad Tao will join the RSO in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse to perform an incredible rendition of the exquisite Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin.

Tao, whose appearance in the fall of 2018 with the New York Philharmonic was selected as a New York Times Best Classical Music Performance of 2018, has also had debuts with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Boston Symphony, and performed a recital at Carnegie Hall all within the past year. He also won a 2019 New York Dance and Performance Award (“Bessie”) for collaboration with dancer Caleb Teicher for a work entitled More Forever and just released his third classical album.

“Having Conrad Tao with the RSO in Ridgefield is incredibly exciting!” says RSO Executive Director Laurie Kenagy. “Conrad’s career has skyrocketed in the past couple of years, and he is only 25 years old. It’s hard to imagine what all he will accomplish. We are extremely fortunate to have him perform with us in Ridgefield!”

Also on the February 22nd concert program is Stravinsky’s lively “Octet” and Poulenc’s beautiful “Sinfonietta”. The concert will at 8:00 at The Ridgefield Playhouse, so seating is limited - get your tickets early! For tickets visit www.ridgefieldsymphony.org or call 203.438.3889. (Tickets also make a wonderful holiday gift!)
