Theater Barn Kicks Off New RTB Lounge Series January 18th

Recognizing the abundance of local cabaret talent, The Ridgefield Theater Barn is kicking off a new cabaret series, the RTB Lounge.

The brainchild of Lisa Riggs Hobbs, the musical director of the ever-popular Piano Bar…n events, the series is still in development but will take advantage of her extensive knowledge of the musical theater powerhouse entertainers in the area.

No two events will be identical, and the feel will be much like the variety shows of the 60s and 70s. The first event in the series, The Duane & Dany Show, will take place Saturday, January 18th at 8pm, and feature Duane Lanham and Dany Rousseau.

Dany has been performing throughout CT and NY for over 20 years. A Clinical Trial Assistant in the regulatory field, she channels her artistic skills into theater by way of set, prop, costume, hair and makeup design, application, and construction. She also works as a consultant and choreographer for the Side by Side Charter School's Show Choir/Drama Club.

RTB audiences will recognize Duane from his performances in Wreck the Halls, Urinetown, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, but he has been acting in plays and musicals for over 20 years in and around New York City, with extended tours throughout Europe and parts of Asia.

Duane and Dany knew they had struck gold when they were partnered in Wilton Playshop’s production of Guys and Dolls last year, and it was inevitable that they take advantage of that cheeky chemistry. Backed by The Big Barn Band, Duane and Dany will bring their killer voices and sharp comedic timing to the stage along with special guest stars for this unique lounge show.

Tickets are $35 and doors open at 7pm. Seating is cabaret style and patrons are invited to bring food and drink to enjoy before the show. Snacks and drinks are also available at the concession stand. Reservations are strongly recommended.
