13th Annual Run Like a Mother® 5k Road Race Registration Now Open

Registration for the 13th running of the Ridgefield-based Run Like A Mother® 5k road race is now open. The race benefits Ridgefield Library’s Noreen L. Papa Mothers: Live Your Life Fund

Happening every year on Mother’s Day, this joyful race takes place on May 10, 2020, and includes a women-only 5K, a Kids One Mile race, and fun post-race party for the entire family. Run Like a Mother, Ridgefield’s largest race, begins at the Ridgefield Playhouse, with family members lining the course and cheering their athletes on. The final mile heads down historic Main Street before turning into Ballard Park for the finish line and a post-run celebration. 5K finishers will receive a commemorative medal, a technical tee-shirt, and a portable, reusable shopping bag.

New this year: First-time racers will receive a special recognition sticker on their race number so they can receive extra encouragement from the crowd.

Proceeds from the race benefit the Noreen L Papa "Mothers:Live Your Life" Fund at the Ridgefield Library. Noreen Papa was an integral part of Run Like a Mother for many years, who passed away in 2013 from cancer. Library programming from the fund focuses on health and wellness for the entire community. “We are excited to bring the 13th running of this special race to Ridgefield. We want to encourage women of all ages to do something special for themselves on Mother’s Day, and bring along their mom, sister, daughter, or friends to enjoy the special day,” says Megan Searfoss, founder of Run Like a Mother, Ridgefield resident, and owner of Ridgefield Running Company.

Participants can go to www.ridgefieldrunning.com/events to register.

Also new this year is Referral Rewards. For every 4th person signed up by a registered participant for the race, the referrer will be refunded a portion of their registration fees.
