2020 Great Expectations Gala Honoring Eileen & Jay Walker POSTPONED

The Ridgefield Library, working in conjunction with 2020 Gala honorees,
Eileen and Jay Walker, has decided to postpone its 1920's themed Great Expectations Gala scheduled for May 30th.  The Library, which has already shuttered its physical doors for the indefinite future after earlier suspending programming in an effort to help suppress the transmission of the COVID-19 virus, believes this decision is in the best interests of our community.

We do this even as we hope a resolution of the Coronavirus crisis will come soon enough to have allowed the Gala to proceed. That is not, however, an outcome we can anticipate long enough in advance and still be able to suspend the Gala if circumstances demand such at the end of May.

The Gala will be held at the Library on Saturday, November 7th from
6:00 - 11:00 pm with the full support of the Walkers. The Library Board appreciates the cost this decision might have on the plans of Gala sponsors and Library supporters who had planned on attending the Gala in May and will work to ensure that the new date will not compromise their ability to honor the Walkers with a unique and worthy celebration.
