Drive-in Movie at Ridgefield High School Field of Dreams TONIGHT, Sunday, July 5 at 9pm
Field of Dreams will be shown on the big screen outside of Ridgefield High School tonight! This event is FREE and will be on a first-come, first-served basis with the "Drive-in" lot (please use the entrance off of Route 116) opening at 8pm. Although this is town run event, more information can be found on The Ridgefield Playhouse website www.ridgefieldplayhouse.org
While Ridgefield doesn’t have a permanent drive-in movie theater, Billy Craig, owner of Craig’s Fine Jewelry, has found a way to create a temporary one. Drive-in movies have taken place throughout the month of June. The last movie of the series was rained out and was rescheduled to this evening.
When Iowa farmer Ray (Kevin Costner) hears a mysterious voice one night in his cornfield saying “If you build it, he will come,” he feels the need to act. Despite taunts of lunacy, Ray builds a baseball diamond on his land, supported by his wife, Annie (Amy Madigan). Afterward, the ghosts of great players start emerging from the crops to play ball, led by “Shoeless” Joe Jackson. But, as Ray learns, this field of dreams is about much more than bringing former baseball greats out to play.
All of the films are FREE and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Audio will be available through your car radio. To hear the audio, tune your radio to 1630AM.
