Ridgefield Diversity Film Series Continues Tomorrow with FREE Screening of Sophie Huber’s Blue Note Records

The Ridgefield Diversity Film Series continues tomorrow night (Wednesday, September 23 at 7pm) with BLUE NOTE RECORDS presented by The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra! All films are screened for FREE at The Ridgefield Playhouse! Reserve your seats by calling 203-438-5795!

This is a FREE screening of Filmmaker Sophie Huber’s Blue Note Records Beyond The Notes.  The film takes you on a revelatory, thrilling and emotional journey behind the scenes of Blue Note Records, the pioneering label that gave voice to some of the finest jazz artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.

The film is presented by the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra.  The bonus content following the screening will include an interview with 6-time Grammy Award-winning Jazz musician Christian McBride, New York Jazz Award winner Thelonious Sphere “T. S.” Monk and Blue Note Record president Don Was, led by entertainment reporter Cheryl Washington.

The bonus content will be shown after the film in the theater as well as on The Ridgefield Playhouse YouTube channel for home viewing, thanks to our streaming content sponsor People’s United Bank.

The Ridgefield Playhouse successfully launched Ridgefield’s Diversity Film Series on September 9 with a screening of Malcolm X followed by bonus content, which consisted of an interview with actors Giancarlo Esposito and Sharon Washington, who portray Thomas Hayer and Augusta in the film.

To see the entire Diversity Film Series line up visit The Ridgefield Playhouse website or call (203) 438-5795.  Tickets are free, but must be reserved by calling the box office.
