RSO Presents Pete Wikul Jazz Band!

Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra is excited to present the Pete Wikul Jazz Band, this Sunday, October 4th at 4:00 PM outdoors under a tent at The Ridgefield Playhouse. The band features six superb musicians who, having performed all over the world, bring their collective groove to Ridgefield for this very special performance!

Vocalist Nicole Pasternak, with “A sound too good not to notice.” (Pulse Magazine), has been called "The finest flowering of the Jazz Tradition." by VisionWind Music. Ralph Lalama is a three-time Grammy Award winning saxophonist, a solid fixture on the New York jazz scene and respected world-wide, and a member of the renowned Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. Scott Wendholt is a Grammy winning trumpet player, who has recorded on over 120 albums, and also a member of the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. Brian Glassman is a master bassist who has performed, toured and recorded with a long list of jazz greats

and who serves as an Ambassador of Music for the U.S. Department of State. Rob Aries is a renowned keyboard player and a member of funk and R&B powerhouse Average White Band. Pete Wikul is a retired Navy SEAL, Nobel Peace Prize co-recipient, and oh yes . . . a drummer!

The concert will feature jazz standards and some lesser known gems, and serves as the kickoff to the RSO All Hearts fundraiser. The band’s performance is being generously donated by Pete Wikul, and the concert is sponsored by First Light Home Care of Western Connecticut, with proceeds going to the fundraiser to benefit RSO musicians who have not been able to play with the orchestra since last winter.

COVID-19 protocols will be in place. Audience members must wear masks when entering the tent from the parking lot and when leaving the tent at any time. Ticket holders will be seated with the people with whom they purchase tickets, and safely socially distanced from other patrons. Seating will be provided – no need to bring lawn chairs or blankets.  Restrooms will be available.  Please note there are no paper tickets. There will be a check-in list when you arrive.

Following the concert, keep the evening going with dinner at Gallo Ristorante! (Located at 5 Grove Street, right around the corner from The Playhouse.) Gallo will donate 10% of all dinner proceeds to the RSO to support the All Hearts fundraiser. The concert will conclude at approximately 6:00 PM and reservations for dinner are highly recommended.
