Guild of Artists Presents Art Show for the Holidays

Since last spring, the pandemic has affected all our lives.  At the Guild of Artists, we have continued to keep our community engaged and enjoying being creative, all while considering safety and expenses during these unprecedented times.  Sadly, we are unable to offer our 16th Annual Festive Home fundraiser event this year.  Instead, we are offering an in-gallery and online member art show -- “The Art of Giving.”  We are asking our members to submit artwork they feel makes a great gift.

“Traditionally, we have sold lots of artwork during Festive Home and we want this year to be no different.  Our hope is that visitors will think out-of-the-box for the holidays and consider artwork as holiday gifts for family, friends, or even themselves,” said Pam Stoddart, Executive Director at the Guild.

“The Art of Giving” runs from Saturday, November 14 through Sunday, December 20 at our gallery barn at 34 Halpin Lane, Ridgefield, open Wed-Sun, 12-4pm.  For safety reasons, viewings will be by appointment only.

Please visit www.rgoa.org to sign up for a time slot.  For those of you who are not comfortable coming to the show in-person, it will also be available online.  We are hoping for gift-friendly pieces of artwork from our members, including small and large paintings, photography, prints, and much, much more.  Along with member art, more of the Guild’s “Community Art Project” 10x10” canvases, created by Ridgefield community members since last spring, will be available for sale for a donation of $25 each.

This is a member show.  Any artist not currently a member, may join the Guild and submit to the show through the Guild’s website www.rgoa.org and the entrythingy.com link.  The deadline for submissions is Saturday, October 31st, 11:59pm.  For complete details, the “Call for Artists” and prospectus is available on the Guild’s website.

In addition, with remaining items from last year’s Festive Home, we are planning a “Festive Tent Sale” outside in the back of our building under our new big tent on November 21, 22, 27, 28, and 29.  Many of the items you are used to seeing at Festive Home will be on hand and marked down for quick and easy sales.

RGOA is an IRS tax-exempt 501c(3) organization and all contributions are greatly appreciated.
