Adaptation of Holiday Classic, A Christmas Carol, Opens at Theater Barn November 28th

After closing their doors on March 12th, the Ridgefield Theater Barn is thrilled to re-open with their holiday production, A Christmas Carol, on November 28th and welcome patrons back into the theater. The show, which was originally presented in 2018 at the Farmington Valley Stage Company in Collinsville, CT, stars Patrick Spadaccino in his one-man adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic tale.

The Theater Barn is incredibly pleased to bring such a unique and engaging production of this timeless tale of redemption and hope to the community during these tumultuous times, particularly in the skilled hands of such a gifted actor. Directed by the talented Scott R. Brill, the show will run Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8pm, with Sunday matinees at 2pm through December 20th.

Overseen by their in-house Covid-certified Compliance Officer (who is also OSHA certified), the Barn has taken many steps to satisfy all Covid protocols. Among many aspects of readying the theater (all of which are listed on their website), they have removed several tables and chairs, assuring all tables are 6 feet apart, and all patrons are at least 12 feet from the actor on stage. Each table seats 4 and is sold as one unit to ensure “pod seating.” Seating is still cabaret-style and patrons may bring food and drink, but the theater requests they “keep it simple” and notes that masks are still required at all times, except while eating or drinking.

All preparations aside, the theater understands not everyone is ready to venture out. They are filming a live performance that will be available for patrons to watch in the comfort of their own homes starting December 4th. This multi-camera shoot will capture the performance in an exciting way, and patrons will receive a link to start viewing at the same time as it goes live on stage. Although not physically in the same space, they shall still share the experience.

The Ridgefield Theater Barn is located at 37 Halpin Lane; doors open one hour before curtain, reservations are required for both in-person and virtual attendance and can be made at ridgefieldtheaterbarn.org.
