Virtual Artist Talk: Congressman Jim Himes and Twenty Twenty Artists on December 6

On Sunday, December 6 at 3:00 pm, The Aldrich will host a virtual group conversation moderated by Congressmen Jim Himes of Connecticut between Twenty Twenty artists Marti Cormand, Judith Eisler, Andy Mister, Diana Shpungin, Gil Scullion, and William Powhida.

U.S. Representative Jim Himes is currently serving his sixth term in Congress and represents Connecticut’s 4th Congressional District. He currently serves as a member of the House Financial Services Committee and as Chairman of the Strategic Technologies and Advanced Research Subcommittee on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Twenty Twenty, an exhibition of works on paper rolled out sequentially over five months, presents the work of seven artists who primarily utilize photographic imagery. The exhibition was conceived of in 2019 to document and respond to the 2020 election season and was originally scheduled to open in June 2020. 2020 has been a historic year and the work being created by the artists now reflects their lived experience through a landmark election year, a global pandemic, and a national reckoning with systemic racial injustice.

Kindly note that online registrations close at 4:30pm on the last business day before the start of each program. Learn more and register here.
