The Aldrich Presents Sasha Ono inspired by Frank Stella’s Stars, A Survey on February 28 at 1pm.

We are thrilled to continue partnering with Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra in bringing music and art together on our campus. Cellist Sasha Ono will perform inside The Aldrich galleries delighting visitors with repertoire inspired by the works of art on view.

Sasha Ono is a genre-bending cellist and educator in the New York City area where she performs, records, and arranges music. Recent performances include work with Grammy Award-winning jazz musicians, NPR Tiny Desk, 8-Bit Big Band, mxmtoon, Mozart in the Jungle, Streetlight Manifesto, and Little Kruta Orchestra.

Sasha has been featured as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician on National TV, Piccolo Spoleto Festival, Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, National Sawdust, David Geffen Hall, Madison Sq. Garden as well as international performance venues. International performances include a tour of Northern Japan to raise awareness and funds for areas still heavily impacted by the tsunami and earthquakes.

As an advocate for classical music reflecting the experiences of wider communities, she founded Lotus Chamber Music Collective which focuses on performing compositions by women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ composers - and recently was awarded a grant by Chamber Music America.

Sasha is the Community Partner and Education Director for OrchestraOne NYC, String Orchestra conductor at Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra, and Teaching Artist for Orchestra of St. Luke's and New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.
