Art and civics intersect in the Town Hall Women’s Portrait Project, a multi-artist installation commemorating women’s activism, located in Ridgefield’s Town Hall. The art installation is a compilation of portraits, showcasing different artistic styles and approaches, that celebrates some of the women who help keep Ridgefield running. Tuesday’s panel will feature some of the artists and models who contributed to the artistic endeavor, including Suzanne Benton, who conceived of and initiated the project as a way to honor and mark the importance of the centennial anniversary of the passing of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi will also be present to discuss the installation's importance and impact.
