Charles Ives Music Festival Presents the Ulysses Quartet

The Charles Ives Music Festival (CIMF) at the Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra honors the legacy of composer Charles Ives by bringing American music to the Fairfield County area. CIMF provides interactive educational events, centered around the exploration of chamber music, for both youth and adults in our community. CIMF concerts regularly feature dynamic and unique artists performing the music of 20th and 21st century American composers, and music that transcends the traditional boundaries of classical music. This summer’s festival will be held in Ridgefield from July 31st through August 14th with more than 60 youth and adult participating.

Next Friday, June 18th, will be a kick-off to the summer with a special “Evening in Celebration of the Charles Ives Music Festival featuring a performance by the renowned Ulysses Quartet. The event will be held in the Garden Room at the Keller Tavern Museum & History Center starting at 7:30 PM. Enjoy drinks, dessert and marvelous music as we celebrate the return of live, in-person performances!

“The Charles Ives Music Festival is an incredible program featuring graduates of the world’s top conservators as Artist-Faculty who rehearse and perform in chamber ensembles with the youth and adult festival participants,” says Laurie Kenagy, WCYO Board President. “The Festival also brings outstanding professional chamber musicians to Ridgefield, like the Ulysses Quartet who will be performing on June 18th.”

This event is open to all music lovers and tickets for an ”Evening in Celebration the Charles Ives Music Festival” are $50 for adults and $30 for students and can be purchased here.
