Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra and Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center Announce Return of Music at the Museum

This summer, plan to start your week with fabulous live music! Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra (RSO) and Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center (KTM&HC) will again partner to present diverse musical performances including jazz, bluegrass, popular music, and RSO classical ensembles, on the beautiful grounds of KTM&HC, Monday evenings at 6:30 PM from June 28th through July 26th.

With generous support from our sponsor, FirstLight Home Care of Western Connecticut, a business that provides non-medical home care services for seniors as well as busy families, the concerts will be offered free to the public. “Caring for families and individuals is what we do, and particularly after the year we have all experienced with COVID, we thought supporting live musical performances would offer much needed inspiration and joy to our community right now,” says Wenjun Richards, owner, along with husband John Richards, of FirstLight Home Care.

The series, established last summer to provide easy access to live quality performances during the pandemic, quickly developed a following by many in the community. “We were fortunate to be able to collaborate with our friends at KTM&HC to present great live music outdoors at a time when people could not be indoors. The concerts also provided the opportunity for musicians to perform after months of cancelled concerts. The series was so well received, that we look forward to doing it again starting on Monday, June 28th!” says RSO Executive Director, Laurie Kenagy, “This is a wonderful way to come as you are and enjoy the lovely setting and sounds KTM&HC and RSO have to offer!”

The list of scheduled performances are as follows:

June 28 – Shere Kahn, jazz-funk supergroup

July 5 – Harmonia V, classical & contemporary wind quintet

July 12 – Angry O’Haras, progressive bluegrass

July 19 – Cara Quartet, flute and strings chamber ensemble

July 26 – Pete Wikul Jazz Band, jazz standards with a unique groove

All concerts begin at 6:30 PM.
