I can't believe it's been a year since my last concert in Ridgefield! A lot has happened, including the exciting news that my student Phoebe Qian got accepted to attend Juilliard Pre-College starting this Fall to study with Minhye Clara Kim!
We've put together a lovely program of Bach Suites and Kummer Duets to celebrate her huge accomplishment. Please join us this Sunday in the beautiful garden of Bernards at 11:30am to hear our program. Please reserve a table and stay for lunch.

Message from Madeleine:
Even though Phoebe Qian had her first piano lesson at the age of 3, she had always wanted to play the cello. She started taking lessons with Agnes Nagy at iSchool of Music & Art when she turned 5.
She won the first prize of Forte International Competition that was held in Carnegie Hall in 2016. She also was the winner of the Concert festival concerto competition in 2017. As one of the winners, she played the Saint-Saens Cello Concerto in A minor with the concert festival orchestra. In 2019 she was the second prize winner at Vivo competition and winner of the Discovery competition at Children’s Orchestra Society. She played the Haydn concerto in C with the Children’s orchestra.
She was also invited to attend Casalmaggiore International Music Festival in Italy as one of the youngest cellists in 2015, 2017 and 2018. She played the Vivaldi cello concerto in C minor with the festival orchestra in the Casalmagiore festival. In 2019 She performed J.C. Bach’s cello concerto in c minor at Musiktage am Rhein music festival in Germany with the festival string orchestra.
Phoebe currently studies with Clara Kim and Madeleine Bouissou. She was accepted by Juilliard pre-college in June 2021. She is very excited to begin her new musical chapter in her life.
