The Ridgefield Library will host a Zoom program, “Creating Movie Props with Ross MacDonald,” on Wednesday, August 18th at 6:30 pm, as part of its seventh annual RidgeCon celebration of pop culture fandom. Ross MacDonald is an author, illustrator and designer.
He has also worked as a prop designer and as a consultant on period printing, design, and documents for over 100 movies and television series, including The Hateful Eight; Joy; Silver Linings Playbook; Seabiscuit; the John Wick movies; and National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets; as well as the HBO series Boardwalk Empire and The Plot Against America, the Cinemax series The Knick; and the NBC series Parks and Recreation. He created props for the Broadway productions Network, To Kill a Mockingbird, Diana; Hillary and Clinton, and Ferryman. Currently, he is working on the Martin Scorcese movie adaptation of Killers of the Flower Moon. Please join us to have a look at some of these props, and to learn more about the fascinating process used to make them.
