Artful Visual Arts Initiative to Host Dog Day of Summer Kids’ Scavenger Hunt Saturday, September 18

This Saturday, September 18th, from 12- 5pm, Artful will host a scavenger hunt for kids ages 5 and up on Main Street in Ridgefield. As part of the Bow WOW Art Dogs initiative, the event will feature 10 more colorfully decorated dogs that will be hiding in local merchants’ shops and waiting to be discovered.

In addition, merchants will offer treats and special promotions such as coloring at Sedona Art, pup cups and dog treats for our furry friends at Deborah Ann’s Sweet Shoppe, hot dog special at Chez Lenard’s, a curated collection of dog related books at Books on the Common, and even a special drink at Tequila Escape for parents.

“The merchants have been such enthusiastic partners for this event,” says Artful founder and president of the board, Dee Dee Colabella.” We are so excited to keep the fun rolling for all of our community members!” And the fun will keep rolling. This event leads next week’s Leader of the Pack Fundraiser Event scheduled for September 25th at the Aldrich Museum from 6-9pm, where all dog statuary will be displayed and available for sale at auction.

To participate in the scavenger hunt, kids and parents can pick up a guide at the RPAC Gallery, located at 410 Main Street, to see the list of downtown merchants who have secretly hidden 10 dogs. Next, join in the search for Disco Dog, Pretty in Pink, Fall Guy Dog and more, and collect a stamp at each hiding spot. Once completed, participants can return with their stamped guide to get a prize. This is a rain or shine event.
