Ridgefield Independent Film Festival’s ‘Love Is Love’ film block features seven films chosen for their depth, beauty and comedy. In “Spell It Out In Neon” director, Tammy Minoff weaves a funny and poignant story of Beth, one half of a joint Halloween costume trying to breach the “friend zone” with her ‘other half’.

“Entwined” by Dale Griffiths Stamos finds two people in their sixties at a chance encounter in front of a painting which brings back painful and also beautiful memories. “Forget Me Not” is a delightful animated short by Courtney LeBlanc and Saige Guevara in which a cartoon classic wages war on her rebooted counterpart in order to preserve her legacy.

In “The Color of You” by Fairfield resident Jacob Rodier, a young man is coaxed by a young woman to put down his phone and see the world around him. In “Alienated” another animated short, by Luke Angus of Norwalk, a lonely alien is unable to come to terms with the loss of a loved one and goes to extreme lengths to avoid accepting reality.

“Play It Again” by Daniel Abramovici of Toronto, Canada finds two best friends about to part when one decides whether or not to make a grand romantic gesture worthy of the best Rom Coms or to keep her feelings to herself. And in “Make It Easy” by Ridgefielder, Ellie Gravitte, a chance encounter between a young musician (Alexis Floyd, Shondaland/Netflix) and a street busker leads to an enchanted journey of song and self discovery one midnight in New York City.

“I was so pleased to see the imaginative, surprising and witty ways each of these filmmakers approach their subject,” states RIFF Founder and Producer, Joanne Hudson. “I’m also super excited to have so many of them attending the festival this year and participating in post screening panel discussions about their process. It’s been my dream to get filmmakers from different parts of the world together here in Ridgefield to discuss filmmaking, art and life.”
